Excellent Condition Barnett Cavalry or Artillery Percussion Carbine, 23" barrel, approx. 55 cal with very good rifling, barrel retains 95% blue with some freckling, three leaf rear sight, brass trigger guard, nose cap and butt plate. Lock marked "Barnett- London" also stamped in an oval on right side of stock is "Barnett/ Gunmakers/ London". British proof marks on barrel and to rear of trigger guard tang in wood, great quantities of these were imported by the Confederacy from Europe during the Civil War and many were unmarked, this one may be one of these. Excellent wood with nice grain and almost no dings or dents, original ram rod, good working order.
