Sir Joshua Reynolds, English (1723-1792) Attributed, Oil on canvas painting of John Manners, Marquis of Granby profile portrait, paper label on reverse identifying the artist and sitter, repaired rip upper left side and over his head, name plate on frame but unsigned, 30" x 25", probably the original gessoed frame, 36 1/2" x 31 1/2", canvas with old lining, small repairs as noted, old scrape on his nose. Provenance: Descended in the family until now, old paper label on back of stretcher top 'Marquis of Granby Painted by Sir Joshua Reynolds".
