School of Thomas Gainsborough, England 18thC, Oil on canvas painting (laid down on masonite) portrait of a mid 18thC lady in a white dress and feather hat, 36 1/4" x 31 1/4", unsigned, set in a modern molg molded frame, some areas of restoration and areas in her hair, sky and hat with the paint lifting and flaking. Provenance: Local NH estate collection, bought at auction originally with no background information.
