Lot 108: Antique Large Rectangle Shell Cameo

Antique Large Rectangle Shell Cameo, Very finely carved cameo with six children gathered in a rural landscape, very fine details in the features and leaves, including a set of two very small deer in the background grazing. The back of the cameo is scratch marked into the shell with the initials, "GNT". The setting appears to be yellow gold and has two markings on the pin back that are illegible, hinged bail so that it can be worn alternatively as a pendent. Measures approx. 2 3/8" x 1 6/8" and weighs 20 grams.
