Model 1816 Springfield Flintlock Musket, Now converted to percussion. .69 caliber. Marked in front of hammer: Eagle/U.S. Marked behind hammer: Sprng/field/1827. Standard issue firearm between 1816 and 1840 however many were converted to percussion and used in the Civil War. Made by Springfield Harpers Ferry Armories as well as by many outside contractors. 42" barrel. Wood in very sound condition with no cracks or chips. Metal is a pleasing black/brown. Original ramrod is present.
