German 1930's Solingen Labor Corps Knife. Now a clip point Bowie with stag's horn paneled grip. Blade was originally shaped like a heavy cleaver for clearing brush. It has been altered to the Bowie shape by grinding. Steel guard, grip and hooked pommel is nickel plated. Top edge of grip has: " Truppf. Leo Roth", possibly maker's name. Blade has single fuller and what appears to be a Solingen maker's mark at the ricasso now unreadable due to sharpening. Also, blade had writing which is similarly partially obliterated, however originally read: "Arbeit adelt". No Scabbard. Ca: 1930. Blade Ln: 9.5". Loa: 14.5".
