Oval "Nantucket" Basket, Having a swing handle, woven basket is 9" wide and 9" tall with the handle up, marked on the bottom with a paper label "made by Ferdinand Sylvano, 97 Orange St., Nantucket, Mass." This ship basket maker lived on Nantucket (1868-1952) and has a well documented history in the Lightship Basket Museum. Probably made in the 1920's, good overall condition.
