Olive Fell, Wyoming (1896-1980). Etching, signed and titled "Old Faithful", depicting the famous geyser in full eruption. A dramatic and accomplished image. 5 3/8" x 3 3/8". Matted and framed. Fell was a native of Cody, Wyoming and studied art at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League in New York City, where she met and befriended Georgia O'Keeffe. During the 1940's and 1950's she created postcards and promotional material for Yellowstone National Park, often adding bears to the landscapes. This etching was the basis for several such scenes.
