Leather Briefcase Owned by Franklin D Roosevelt, A foldover case with 2 straps with buckles 16" X 11", imprinted under the flap with gold leaf remains "Franklin D. Roosevelt", the markings under the brass clasp is "Aug. Goertz & Co. Inc., Newark, N.J., Design-Pat-Apld. FOR Mashek, Chicago", Leather mark "Mashek Pat July 20, 1921" Ser #MC 431-16-4", Provenance: This case was found in an Albany, NY home which had belonged to a Bernadette (Lahan)Lynch who worked for FDR and logically received the case as a gift, it is accompanied by an email letter from the FDR museum In Hyde Park, Ny discussing the likelihood of it being his case although logically prior to his becoming President of the USA.
