Polychrome Scrimshaw Walrus Tusk Attributed to Nathaniel Sylvester Finney, 1813-1879, decorated on both sides with portraits of five women, American Clippership and sailor, mother/son, man shooting a pistol and two women with a sprig of flowers, 17 1/8" long, probably done when he worked in San Francisco C1870, unsigned but very similar to signed works in Mystic Seaport Museum, the Kendall Whaling Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
