Japanese Imperial Army Battle Flag, silk, 25" x 28". Stained with several rips and areas of fraying (see photos). This variant of the Rising Sun motif was used by the Japanese Imperial Army between 1870-1945. This particular flag appears to be of the WWII vintage, or perhaps from the 1930's during the conflict with the Soviet Union
