Two Dan Masks, Dan people, Liberia. The post-war examples well carved, but of late manufacture and with altered surfaces. The first a large face-mask with heavily encrusted patina that has been oiled and artificially aged; the second with glossy surface and overly smoothed interior and patinated interior, with fiber coif.
