A fine and rare Arapesh ancestor figure, Arapesh, Maprik region; Papua New Guinea
The figure with enlarged head with raised triangular coif, the brow large and prominent with tiny eyes and nose with pierced septum, the body ovoid and flattened at the back, the arms rising up and legs down; the whole with fine old surface over yellow and reddish pigment with black and white highlights.
