17thC Jewish/Spanish Barqueno Valuables Box- carved and gilded front 4 drawer chest with inset ivory fans and surrounds to create a 6 pointed star on each drawer front, 12 1/4" tall X 21 1/2" wide X 13 1/2" deep, wrought carry handles on each side and replaced 4 ball feet, these were thought to have been made by the Muranos, a Jewish peo[ple who were forced to convert during the Spanish Inquisition and who secretly kept their faith for hundreds of years.
