Roscoe Pound (1870-1964) was Dean of the law school from 1916 to 1936 and is considered among if not the most cited American legal scholars of the 20th Century whose contributions to the field of sociological jurisprudence are significant to this day. A.L. Lowell (1856-1943) was among the most significant figures in the history of the University.
