A fine Nepalese Shaman’s drum and tapper. Nepal, probably Terrai, H: 26", D: 14". The drum of classical double sided from, the tympanums intact but with small areas of slight tearing, but sound is still very good. The handle of phurba-form, with three faces, a central carved geometric pattern and a three sided pointed tip with implied Makara and snakes to each facet of the blade. Together with an original drum-beater in the form of a miniature bow. Very fine example. Property of a Maine private collector.
