A fine and old Bakongo power figure. Bakongo people, Dr Congo. H: 12 1/2". The figure with the fetish mass to the top of the head now missing, the face well carved and the eyes inset with glass and resin, the abdomen with empowering box covered with glass retaining contents, the arms vestigial, possibly indicating the figure was once wrapped or covered in a larger fetish mass, the legs slightly bent, standing on an integral base.
