A fine and rare Toma Angbai mask
Toma people, Macenta region; Guinea/Liberia H: 19". The mask of classical form with four small horns rising from the top, the brow heavy and with large nose and tiny eyes to either side, the brow ridge with linear patterns. The mask pierced at the perimeter for attachment of fiber and hide. Variegated dark patina throughout. A thin age crack running up the face from the chin. On a custom base. Ex.
