A Native American Ball headed war club. Possibly North-Eastern New England H: 27" The club carved roughly, the surface of the striking ball showing age and degradation from use. The natural form of the ball appears to have an implicit human face in the burl of the root used. It is possible that this is a rare example of a Pennacook or Abenaki war club; the native peoples of new Hampshire being almost totally decimated by the 1830s. From an old New Hampshire family, by descent.
