Lot 228: Katabori Netsuke of Sambaso

Katabori Netsuke of Sambaso, a dancer standing with his right foot raised and wearing a tall hat with one kimono sleeve raised, reddish brown fruit wood with ivory face and feet, hat is a dark colored wood, tongue is red, 2 1/4" tall, chipping on both feet. Provenance: From the John C. Reilly, 1883-1935, Jr. collection. He purchased Henry A. Ramsden's Japanese collection who was in partnership with Japanese coin dealer Jun Kobayagawa of Yokohama.
