Mammoth Ivory Katabori Ivory Netsuke of a young boy playing a drum while seated on an elephant, nicely carved with dark yellow patina in spots due to age, 1 3/8" tall. Mammoth ivory fluoresces to purple with black lighting. Provenance: From the John C. Reilly, 1883-1935, Jr. collection. He purchased Henry A. Ramsden's Japanese collection who was in partnership with Japanese coin dealer Jun Kobayagawa of Yokohama.
