A Fine and Important Bronze Figure of Osiris 20th Dynasty (1186-1069 BC) The figure of Osiris in classical mumiform style with high crown and holding the crook and scepter. Fine patina with appropriate verdigris. The current lot was given in 1929 as a gift to the father of the consignor by Keith Seele, a professor of Oriental Institute, University of Chicago, who worked at the actual dig at Medinet Habu in Luxor. The lot is accompanied by an original letter from Seele (included) authenticating and explaining it to the owner's father. 4 7/8" tall x 1 3/8" wide.
