Half stock Percussion Cap Octagonal Barreled Target Rifle in .32 caliber produced by, Leo O. Leonard in Keene, NH, (1859-1869). Barrel measures 30" long and is impressed, "Leo O. Leonard, Keene NH, cast steel," between fancy rose and scroll engraving. A hooded very fine post sight is dovetailed to the front of the barrel and a rear "V" notched sight with a peep sight below it is mounted to a threaded post on the barrel's rear tang mount. Evidence of some scroll engraving remains on lock cover, but it appears to have been polished. Probably preceding clockwork or hammer repair at some point in the past. Top of rifled barrel impressed, "64." Engraved German silver patch box and fore-stock pin surrounds end cap on forward part of stocks fore grip. Missing oval inlay at cheek-rest, crack on right front of fore-stock and another small crack in stock wood just forward of the shoe lock cover. Please study photos carefully for accurate assessment of condition.
