A Fine Himalayan Figure of Ganesh, Tibet, depicted with consort, possibly Saravati, the figure seated on a rat or weasel, with eight arms holding typical accouterments, with high pointed coif and ring of stylized flames behind and above him. Heavy copper bronze, 19th century or earlier. 8.5" tall. Provenance: From the collection of explorer Fritz Hardenbrook a personal friend of the consignor. These pieces were acquired by Fritz in the mid 1930s. The book "Forgotten Letters, Tramping through China, 1935-1937" documents his time there.
