Lot of Two Early Carved Powder Horns: A) Engraved "Jonathan Hall-1747," 6 1/4" long horn with additional floral engraved decoration covering 90% of the remainder of the powder horn. B) Engraved, "C. Love - 1864," with additional engraving depicting a 4-leaf clover and a circle surrounding a wheeled canon above a pair of crossed swords flanked by US flags on either side. A second circle encompasses a US shield above 3 crossed muskets and another US flag. A twin masted schooner flying US colors is depicting on the side of the powder horn while a scene of 3 masted square rigged whaling ship and harpooned whale with a 4-manned whaleboat behind in active pursuit.
