1898 Nebraska Certificate of Promotion of, "George R. Colton," to "Lieutenant Colonel of the First Regiment," Nebraska Volunteers on May 10th, 1898, signed by the governor Silas A. Holcomb, attested to by "Wm. Porter (Secretary of State) and Patrick H. Baning?, (Adjutant General), 18 1/2" x 15 1/2" wide, stained overall, rolled and wrinkled with some slight paper losses.
