Lot 261: Model 1860 Staff and Field Officers Sword

Model 1860 Staff and Field Officers Sword, made by the "Ames MFG. Co, Chicopee, MASS." Nice quality with acid etched and high polished blade. The Ray skin wrapped hand grip is missing most of its wire wrapping. Most of the gold gilding has worn down to show the age darkened brass beneath. Scabbard and its mounts are in very good condition with only a small dent at its base, 24" blade, sword out of its scabbard measures 35" overall. All Civil War Items are from the collection of Richard Vitagliano of Concord, NH, collected over Forty Years.
