Approximately 18 pieces of Civil War Ephemera Pertaining to Leonard "Alonzo" Gay: 13 personal letters dated 12/28/61 -8/5/65, the letters include horrible accounts of the war including killing of deserters, offering of "trophy" women (black), and the condition of prisoners. Alonzo began as a private and ended as First Lieutenant. Also included 2 pension documents, 2 adjutant general's mustering papers and one Gettysburg Credential (notification of accident or death). All Civil War Items are from the collection of Richard Vitagliano of Concord, NH, collected over Forty Years.
