Approximately 18 pieces of Civil War Ephemera Pertaining to Leonard "Alonzo" Gay: 13 personal letters dated 12/28/61 -8/5/65, the letters include horrible accounts of the war including killing of deserters, offering of "trophy" women (black), and the condition of prisoners. Alonzo began as a private and ended as First Lieutenant. Also included 2 pension documents, 2 adjutant general's mustering papers and one Gettysburg Credential (notification of accident or death).
