Lega Ivory Double Sided Male Iginga Figure, arms at his side with feet, 4 3/4" tall, nice dark honey colored patina. Iginga figures are individually owned by the highest ranking society and are the most coveted of all initiation objects. From the collection of Ivory Lega Figures purchased by the consignor from the Collection of African Art of Andre' J. Navez. Mr. Navez acquired these from 1965-1966, while he was working for the State Department and living in Bukavu, Kivu Province in eastern Congo.
