Auction Results Overview

For this sale, we combined 2 important New England collections with various other local consignors for approximately 300 lots, held in 2 sessions. The second session consisted of all the White Mountain paintings consigned to us that spring, 2 southern NH and a Vermont estates items plus numerous quality items from other New England consignors for a great sale.

A summary of the items offered in the first sessions is below

Japanese
Ivory- Netsuke: ShiShi dog, coiled dragon, cicada, frog; Cane handle; other carvings including peasant and other figural.
Miscellaneous: Important lacquered and gilt carved wooden Buddha with multi tiered base, 18^th century or earlier; Carved red lacquer: large Imperial quality oval box plus numerous smaller boxes and a scholar screen; cloisonné: Meiji floor standing large vase, waterfall charger, smaller yellow high quality vase, large round box plus numerous others; Inro; groups of block prints; 2 volume set of photographs by K Ogawa; collection of photo slides plus more.
Ceramic & Porcelain: Take Karatsu green vase; Satsuma vases and 1000 face tea set; Imari chargers (3), fish form plates and tea pot, Banko tea pot; Koro Jar; pair of Kakiemon  bowls plus a large quantity of tea ceremony items.
Bronze, silver & mixed metals:  Silver marked rooster set on a bronze base; cast iron pots etc; Sentoku round box; signed elephant with tigers attacking; pairs of urns and more.

Ancient Pottery: Han Dynasty pottery covered funereal jar; Dou bronze ritual grain vessel with cover; Yong Zheng period lobed dish and 3 color phoenix head ewer (both as is); tomb figures; horseback figures with yellow glaze.

Bronze, Silver & mixed metals:  Silver marked oar/sailing ship, enamel decorated lobed canister; Cloisonné boxes in all shapes & sizes; gilt bronze censer with 16 character mark; horse form bronze censer with figural cover; 18” bronze Buddha;
Ivory: 2 good carved puzzle balls on stands; good carved brush pots; 2 pair of statuettes one colored plus more.
Textiles: blue and red summer robes with 5 claw dragon designs, woman’s jacket, framed wall mounted pieces and 4 gold thread badges plus more.
Art Work: 4 part screen made with mounted scroll paintings; pair of water color paintings; signed water color “Elephant trunk hill”; standing carved wood and painted “Kuan Yin” maiden figure; scrolls and painted textiles.
Miscellaneous: carved bamboo covered libation cup, carved and painted wooden seated figure; carved wood buffalo with figures; scale in wooden case.
