Persian Ancient Copper Water Jug and Double Handled Mug, A) The 19" tall vessel has a flaring 12" diameter base which tapers up to a multiple ring neck under a round folded over spout with attached handle which curved down almost to the base, old unpolished hammered surface. Provenance: Comes with a newspaper photo depicting a similar jug in the US Army warehouse with Uday Hussein's belongings in the Republican Palace in Baghdad. B) Double handled copper round mug 6" tall with raised fish design in the bottom with a dovetailed body construction, probably 18/19thC.
