Exceptional Turkish Yataghan, the short sword with characteristic brass flaring pommel, the grip and pommel with inset carnelian, the blade with some oxidation with remains of a gilded inscroption to one side (illegible) and a seal of Suliman to the other. The Scabbard with elabrate basket-woven brass locet with attached florets, the body floiate patterns terminating in a shape in the form of a fish, 47 1/2" L sword, could use a good cleaning whic was started on one side. Probably late 18th/19thC.
