Paul Storr Silver Tureen and Tray, English, 1771-1844, round double handled bowl with stepped lid which fits into a round shaped tray, 15" in diameter x 12 1/2" tall. Each with gadrooned edge and a ribbed bowl, all pieces are marked with the normal, "Paul Storr" hallmarks and each is also engraved with a coat of arms having a crown over a round seal, inscribed, "Hon Soit Qui Mal Y Pense." Total weight approximately 195 troy ounces. The outer edge of the lids rim is touch-marked, the outer foot rim of the tureen itself is touch-marked and the underside of the tureens well-plate is touch-marked. Provenance: A southern estate.
