Very Nice Model 1868 US Springfield Trapdoor Rifle, Cal .50 centerfire 32.5" barrel secured by two barrel bands, rear sight of long range type with adjustable slide leaf, serial #5836, very good bore with some slight frosting and sharp rifling, barrel has been blued at some point as originals were issued bright, original ramrod, high arch breech block, lock plate is marked with "Eagle and US Springfield" in front of hammer and 1863 to ear of hammer, this is correct, very good wood with just a few slight dings and dents, good working condition.
