German 17th/18thC Oak Bible Box with Applied Moldings Decoration, Having a dovetailed oak case with pine bottom with two wrought strap hinges on the inside, the top and the front side have an applied molded decoration with indented corners, the interior is paint decorate on the backside of the lid with the initials "CS" painted, there is a till and an early front lock both of which may have been added later. Family history: the family came to the US from Hanover, Prussia area in the E19thC.
