Original first issue large French edition poster, 1954. Printed by Imp. Henon Paris. First Printing, "Modele A" in bottom right corner. 63 1/4" tall x 47" wide. Overall fair condition, with some wear along fold lines, small areas of water damage, tears to edges. mostly along bottom edge. Framed on board behind plexi. See photos for condition.

An attractive well preserved piece of ephemera from arguably one of the greatest films of the 20th Century. A critical and commercial hit in the US, leading the box office and garnering Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director (Elia Kazan), Best Actor (Marlon Brando), Best Screenplay (Budd Schulberg), Best Supporting Actress (Eva Marie Saint), On the Waterfront was also a hit abroad, especially in France, launching Brando into international stardom and creating a powerful lasting influence on cinema worldwide.
