A Fine and Rare Wooden Northwest Coast Feast Ladle. The large and powerful ladle with beautifully carved stylized raven above a classical mask, deeply cut with typical features and paint in classical pigments, the bowl of the label with wire wrapping about the end of the handle. A very fine and exceptionally carved example, likely 19th C. Ex. Sydney and Lynn Lerman Collection, purchased C. 1970 in Atlanta from a private dealer, sold by the heirs of the estate. 18" tall.
