Lega Ivory Male Figure, with arms at his side, angular face with ears, circle with deeply etched dot design, splayed feet, nice red patina, 5 1/4" tall. From the collection of Ivory Lega Figures purchased by the consignor from the Collection of African Art of Andre' J. Navez. Mr. Navez acquired these from 1965-1966, while he was working for the State Department and living in Bukavu, Kivu Province in eastern Congo. They were brought to the US in 1967 and comply with the pre-ban African Elephant Conservation Act. Letters from Mr. Navez included. Estimate $400-600
