18thC American Chippendale Lolling Chair, Having an upholstered rectangular back and trapezoid seat with open serpentine arms with carved scrolled hand holds, cabriole legs with leaf carved knees terminating in ball and claw feet, the back legs are splayed and turned with small pad feet, 28" wide (arms) x 24" deep x 36 1/2" tall, mahogany with American beach secondary wood (wood analysis done, copy available via email). Provenance: Chair found in NH but could possibly be more mid Atlantic/ Southern in origin, the upholstery flame stitch is 20thC but the linen over the horse hair is original or E19thC.
