A fine and very early Nukuma Washkuk Nokwei female figure, with simple face and rounded archaic style body. The figure is significantly different from the large number of Washkuk artifacts that have come out of New Guinea since the 1980’s. The feel and proportions are far more related to older examples in European and American museums. Remains of pigment to figure. On a custom base.
