Lot 202: Turkmenistan Women's Chirpy Robe

Women's Chirpy Robe from one of the ethnic groups in Turkmenistan. The chirpy is an old style garment of clothing, part headdress, part cloak worn atop a woman's headdress. This is a colorful version with embroidery along the edges in red, yellow and white on a black and red ground. This one sleeves are not sewn shut, therefore probably 20th century, handmade.
